Health intelligence company HaloScape appoints breast surgeon and former Harvard Medical School researcher Assoc. Prof. Enver Özkurt as the first member of its Scientific Advisory Board, bringing further independent scientific, clinical and ethical perspective into the development of its health technologies.
AMSTERDAM, August 2026 — HaloScape, the health intelligence company working to make everyday and clinical health signals more connected, understandable and actionable, has appointed Assoc. Prof. Enver Özkurt as the first official member of its newly established Scientific Advisory Board.
The Board has been established to further strengthen the scientific foundation behind HaloScape as the company develops technologies designed to move healthcare beyond isolated snapshots towards a more continuous understanding of health.
Bringing together expertise from different disciplines, the Scientific Advisory Board will contribute independent perspectives across HaloScape's product, technology and artificial intelligence development, with a focus on scientific progress, real-world experience and responsible innovation.
Assoc. Prof. Özkurt is an active breast surgeon at Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital. Alongside his clinical work in breast cancer surgery, he spent 2017–2019 conducting research across Harvard Medical School, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital, some of the United States' most established academic medical and cancer research institutions. His international academic and clinical research experience will now contribute to HaloScape's broader product and model development processes.
HaloScape and Özkurt have been working together on research focused on breast cancer and lymphedema, and the collaboration led both sides to establish a more structured and continuous relationship.
For HaloScape, the Scientific Advisory Board represents a broader commitment to how health technology should be developed: with science, experience and ethical consideration embedded throughout the process rather than added at the end.
Emre Yücel, Founder and CEO of HaloScape, said:
“Science has been and always will be an integral part of HaloScape. The purpose of the Scientific Advisory Board is to take that foundation further by bringing independent experience, different disciplines and new perspectives into how we think, build and make decisions.
Working together with Assoc. Prof. Özkurt gave us the opportunity to see how clinical experience, research discipline and technology can strengthen one another when they are brought around the same problem. Making that relationship more structured was a natural next step.
As HaloScape grows, we want the people around the table to continuously challenge us on the science, the ethics and ultimately the role technology can play in shaping a better future for health.”
HaloScape will soon expand its Scientific Advisory Board with experts from additional disciplines as its technology, scientific work and international research network continue to grow.
